Plaque Removal Is Important In Preventing Gum Infection
Brushing and flossing done with proper techniques can remove plaque. Dental hygienist greatly recommends that everyone should brush their teeth at least twice a day, preferably three times a day or after taking a main meal. Moreover, one should floss at least twice a day. All these simple steps will effectively remove dental plaque – is a complex mass of bacteria that forms on teeth constantly. Plaque can process sugars found in most foods and drinks to form acids that results to tooth decay if plaque is not removed on a daily basis. Bacterial plaque is the primary cause of dental problems and gum infections, the reason why it is crucial to get rid of plaque from all the surface of the teeth and above and below the gum margin through correct brushing and flossing. Cavities and gum problems are likely to develop when plaque is left not removed.
